Here are some individual services that your lawn may need:
Core Aeration- Core Aeration is one of the single best things that you can do for your lawn. We recommend that you aerate once or twice a year, or at the very least once every 3-5 years. Aeration helps to alleviate soil compaction driving your roots deep into the soil and increases water drainage/retention. Aeration also opens up the soil for air and nutrients to reach the roots of the grass. Spring and fall is the time of year that you want to give us a call and book an aeration.
De-thatching/Power Raking- De-thatching/Power Raking is a great way to mechanically remove unwanted decaying debris in and on the top layer of your soil. Sometimes this debris can keep water, nutrients, and oxygen from reaching the roots of your grass. Thatch is typically a very beneficial part of the grass, but sometimes a buildup can occur and create problems resulting in the decline of your turf. Some harmful fungi can hang around in the thatch layer and need to be removed to prevent further damage to the lawn.
Seeding- Seeding can be great for getting your lawn nice and thick. We offer premium grass seed blends adapted perfectly for southern Oregon. Seeding is best done in the fall, but spring is also a great time to seed as well.
Fertilization- Fertilization plays a huge role in a healthy lawn. We use top of the line fertilizers built specifically for lawns. How much fertilizer you apply and when can really ensure that your grass will grow green and strong. Apply lightly in early spring, late spring, mid summer, early fall, and late fall. If you only apply once, do it in the fall.
Humic, Fulvic, and Sea Kelp Applications- Humic Acid, Fulvic Acid, and Sea Kelp are the perfect trio for allowing the grass to use nutrients and minerals easier, while providing a strong immune system and defense against summer heat. Combined these products are great at stimulating grass roots. This can be applied at any time of the year.
Liquid Aeration- Liquid Aeration isn’t the cure for impenetrable soil like core aeration, but what it does help with is grass roots that are just having some trouble moving through the soil and up-taking water, minerals, and nutrients. When applied to your lawn, your soil will begin to open up and really start helping your turf. This application can be applied any time of the year and is a great addition to any lawn care plan.
Micro-nutrients- Micro-nutrients are usually overlooked. Just like with humans, grass needs trace nutrients and minerals like iron, manganese, and boron to name a few. Apply these sparingly during the growing season.
Adding Topsoil- Adding topsoil to your lawn can have a lot of benefits, especially if you live on a lot that was built on poor, shallow soil. Adding the new soil will increase the organic matter in your lawn and will also create more room for your grass roots to thrive.
